Student Spotlight

Fifth grader Nevawn Brathwaite has been a member of the GHS community since pre-K. Fifth grade teacher Ms. Christina shares that Nevawn is happy, empathetic, and competitive.
“He’s using the tools he’s been given to be successful academically, and he’s doing really well,” says Ms. Christina. “Math is his strong suit.”
Ms. Christina says Nevawn is social and enjoys making his peers happy, and that Nevawn and his classmates are all kind to one another.
“I like that teachers help when students are having a hard time,” says Nevawn of his GHS experience. “The students are nice to each other, they help each other, and they look out for each other.”
Ms. Christina shares that Nevawn is a wonderful helper with our youngest students. Nevawn says he enjoys spending time in the ELC because “I like to help them and teach them things.”
Mindfulness is Nevawn’s favorite special because he enjoys learning new things in the class. Nevawn is a member of our elementary soccer team and he plays basketball on the St. John Force team. In his free time, Nevawn enjoys cooking, playing video games, spending time with friends, and playing basketball.
